Some Vertical Platform Lifts can be wired into the fire alarm system on site. When the fire alarm sounds, the lift is instructed to automatically travel to a predetermined landing following which, it can no longer be used (won’t go up or down). The lift will likely be supplied with a pair of volt free contacts (a cable) that is wired into the fire alarm system by the fire alarm engineer.
