The standard power supply in the UK (e.g. in your house, office etc) is 220v Single Phase supply. Many platform lifts will run on this supply, however, some will require a 3 Phase Power Supply (typically, these will be from Scandinavian or Central European manufacturers). Before committing to the purchase of a lift, be sure that you know which type of power supply is required and check that your electrical system can accommodate these requirements. If your building does not have a 3 phase power supply, it might be possible to pay the lift supplier to add a device called an inverter to the lift which will then allow a single phase supply to be used. If you are not sure then always ask before committing to a purchase.
