The term Steplift describes a group of platform lifts that predominantly serve short travels such as split levels (alongside a set of steps), although in more recent times, legislation has allowed them to raise up to 3m (depending upon the environment and intended use). Sometimes referred to as Low Rise Lifts, Steplifts are of an open design (Open Aspect) meaning that they are not supplied with their own structure / enclosure. Typically the user is surrounded by side panels and half height doors that are 1100mm high.
