Case Study
Project
A resident of a domestic property in London required a wheelchair access solution to overcome a step leading from the patio area up into the rest of the garden. Using a ramp proved unsuitable due to the limited space available and gradient. The space constraints and gradient made a ramp unsuitable, leading the customer to opt for a low-rise step lift, as recommended by the builder.
Access Solution
Level Access Lift advised the customer that its ultra-light weight open style lift, TL500 step lift model would be the most appropriate and cost-effective wheelchair access solution. This versatile step lift has a lifting height of up to 500mm and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. The TL500 is also lightweight, weighing 51 kg, which means the customer can easily relocate the step lift in the future.
Results
A member of the Level Access Lifts technical team installed the TL500 step lift within just an hour, with minimal disruption and or alterations to the hard landscaping. The unobtrusive stainless steel design of the wheelchair lift blends seamlessly into the environment without drawing the eye away from the open space.
After the frustration of not being unable to enjoy the garden, the customer now has the freedom to easily access the entire area, including the lawn and flower beds. The easy-to-operate wheelchair step lift has not only enhanced the customer’s quality of living but also provided a sustainable, low-maintenance access solution that can be used for years to come.
