Case Study
Property Partners required a replacement external platform lift for its prime office location, Colton Square in Leicester, which has steps leading up to the terraced entrance. Colton Square is home to several businesses whose staff and visitors include wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility, making reliable step-free access to the building essential.
Completed in 2008, this commercial development unites old and new architecture, with a refurbished listed former police station combined with new grade A offices.
Based on previous successful installations within the Property Partners portfolio, Level Access Lifts was invited to quote. It was essential that the open style platform lift was durable for an outdoor environment, simple to operate and offered a sustainable access solution. Ease of installation was also a major factor to minimise downtime of disability access to the building.
Access Solution
The Tech Lift M4 met the client’s requirements for an external modular platform lift with a travel height of 1.2 metres which could be easily installed. With its precision engineering, this popular DDA compliant step lift product delivers reliability, efficiency and performance.
Property Partners scheduled a two-week turnaround to remove the old lift which had become unreliable and expensive to maintain, and for Level Access to install the new lift. Much to the client’s delight, the whole operation was completed within one day. The Tech Lift M4 was floor and wall mounted with no structural changes or configurations to the existing landscape required.
Results
The Tech Lift M4 has enhanced the Colton Square development, providing step free street access to the terraced entrance of the offices. Aesthetically, the modern design and glazed doors of the platform lift blend seamlessly with both the contemporary and traditional architecture. Property Partners praised the efficiency of Level Access Lifts’ team in achieving the removal of the old lift and installation of the Tech Lift M4 within a day.
