Case Study
To meet the needs of its new disabled pupils, Laurel Lane Primary School in Middlesex required a wheelchair access solution to overcome five internal steps leading from its main entrance to the lower floor classrooms. A passenger lift was already in place to reach the upper levels of the building.
Access Solution
The GTLE platform stair lift from Level Access Lifts offered the ideal solution with its safe, easy operation. This wheelchair access solution could also be easily installed without having to make any alterations to the existing building.
Installation of the GTLE platform stair lift was scheduled within the school’s half term holiday. The installation team wall-mounted the stair lift rail leaving the existing floor fabric untouched.
Results
Installation was completed within the lead time and has met the school’s requirements. The GTLE platform stair lift has enhanced the inclusive environment enabling the wheelchair users to move independently between floors and access the lower classrooms.
