Case Study
Saltash Community School in Cornwall needed a new platform stair lift. The old lift had become faulty, and engineers could not source replacement parts due to its age. The school contacted Level Access Lifts for a suitable replacement, which could be installed easily during the half-term holiday.
Home Access Solution
Level Access Lifts removed the old floor-mounted platform stair lift and installed the GTLE platform stair lift. To maximise the corridor’s step width, the installation team wall-mounted the new lift rather than using a floor mount. The team completed installation within the agreed timeframe without making any structural alterations to the building.
Results
The compact design of the GTLE platform stair lift has provided an ideal solution for Saltash School. The corridor which has five steps leading down in the RE department is now fully accessible to students who are wheelchair users or have limited mobility. The school was so impressed with both the product and the service it received it has since requested a quote for a second GTLE to replace another older stair lift which will provide reliable disability access to its SEN area.
