Case Study
Project
A platform lift solution was required from Level Access Lifts to overcome a split-level floor separating rooms on the ground floor of a domestic property. The resident, who is looked after by a carer living on the upper floor, was restricted to the bedroom area was unable to access her newly decorated living room and kitchen.
Access Solution
The property features a change in floor level on the ground floor, with four steps and an elevated landing leading up to the next staircase and another room, which is being used as a bedroom by the resident. A site survey undertaken by Level Access Lifts found that the cost-effective TL500 step lift initially suggested based on clients information wasn’t suitable. As an alternative, Level Access Lifts proposed its popular Tech Lift M4, which can achieve a total lifting height of 1.5 metres and carries up to 400kg (approximately 63 stone) provides a more sophisticated solution.
The elegant Tech Lift M4 is a popular choice with customers requiring a compact, architecturally designed platform lift. It features fully glazed seamless doors and comes in silver aluminium as standard.
This installation of the Tech Lift M4 was easily achieved with an integrated ramped entrance, without any structural or building alterations apart from the removal of a handrail. The platform lift was provided with wall-mounted, onboard and remote-control operation.
Results
The whole process, from the initial enquiry to the final installation, was achieved within eight weeks in time for Christmas. This meant the resident could finally see and enjoy her newly decorated kitchen and living area with friends and family.
Installation of the Tech Lift M4 step lift has provided a durable, functional solution for the split-level floor, removing the barrier that was preventing independent living. Travel throughout the ground floor of the property is now seamless, and the 800 x 1400mm platform is large enough to accommodate both a wheelchair and a carer, offering a sustainable solution.
The modern, compact appearance of the platform lift fits seamlessly within the residents’ home without looking obtrusive.
