What Are Tactile Push Buttons?
The term ‘Tactile Buttons’ is often confused with Braille Buttons. Tactile, simply means that by using feel alone, the user can distinguish a symbol e.g. an upwards facing arrow or a floor number. As less than 10% of blind people use Braille as their primary reading medium, tactile buttons are generally considered a more encompassing solution. Tactile buttons are also particularly useful for partially sighted people. Some Platform Lift buttons will contain both tactile legends and Braille.
